Hey:

Procharger kits, and STS rear mount turbo kits are the most popular ones I run into, for people that drive their ride alot.

Not to wild but a good pick me up compared to stock.

A good friend has a LT1 STS turbo TA, he likes it, but its not super fast, added about a hundred and change hp to his other wise stock car. He purchased the kit used and its not as fast as my AI H/C/I forged N/A Motor car. But he dosn't have as much money in it either.

Just some info for you.

Dub

I'm running an older vortech a-trim. it onlys pulls 5lbs now thank to that larger cubes (396) but its still a lot of fun. Running a mail order tune now, but hope to get it on the dyno next month.

If it was me, and to save money I would run a 355 with forged pistons (rods and crank will be fine), buy a procharger headunit and bracket and piece the rest of the kit together yourself. Depending on what you wanted to do you could run a different cam and valvetrain and set the pulleys up to make around 10psi. I know of a car with a stock topend with a 224/236 cam on 10psi that made 530rwhp with a Vortech T-trim.

If you want 400rwhp, just buy a used kit and put in on a stock LT1. You can do 6lbs with bolt-ons intercooled and get there. IF ou were worried about detonation, you could always get a meth kit to cool the IAT's and increase power even more.

thats what im looking for.

exactly what kind of parts would i need.

my big thing is i dont want to run long tube headers. i have to keep the car emissions friendly and i think id be able to do that using a supercharger as apposed to a big cam.

You can get headers with emission hookups that wouldn't be a big deal, not real hard to install and would really help the motor breath. Just install a procharger kit (twin intercooler) and make sure its getting adequate fuel (not real hard for around 400rwhp). Tune is key, so find a good tuner and have them monitor everything. How many miles on your motor?

I run a 6psi powerdyne and it makes 400rwhp with shorties, cat-back, 1.6 RR's through a A4

yah i tired to install a set of long tubes last week while the engine was out and they fit like crap. i dont mine shorties or mids but im not gona do long tubes again. not only that but i have to have a cat.

the engine has 92k but im gona do a basic rebuild next spring im just gona beef up the pistons and rings. like i said i dont want to go crazy with this. just want to gain some good hp and keep my emissions. i figured with a used kit i can piece it to gather for about the same as heads and cam setup and still have good street manners
