D1SC , bottom end help
I have a 95 m6 z28 83,243 miles on the clock. I bought the D1SC for 4k spent all my savings. Well car money savings. I don't want to install it on a stock shortblock. How much am I looking to spend I want a reliable blown motor, forged internals ,blower pistons ,cam, heads. Anyone know how much more I should save? I can't seem to find any threads that sum up the amount of money spent. Your probably gonna ask y did I buy the blower first. Answer Bc if I didn't I would be very indecisive on what kind of motor to build N/A,Turbo,S/C

A GOOD forged shortblock is probably going to run $3500 easily and the topend another $3000 easily(more is likely), add another $1000 in fuel system, oiling miscellaneous other stuff, then the car needs full exhaust and some sort of intake tract to the blower, suspension, clutch.
Bet you can spend another $10k pretty easily.
If you want you can save a few hundred by reusing the stock crank and even just rebuilding the stock rods if you are keeping the rpms down

Guess that depends on your goals. I should have said $3000+ in topend and valvetrain because what folks often overlook is that by the time you do nearly $2000 in heads and cam you still need another $1000 in gaskets, intake porting, valvetrain and other stuff.
You would be doing this guy a HUGE disservice if you lowball everything. Better to aim high with the budget and MAYBE end up with leftover cash than to run out before done.

A cheap 355 with forged pistons/rods will still cost a decent amount.

Than you have to figure out what your going to do for the rest of the car. It will be 500hp, and a stock car is half that. You will need to upgrade pretty much everything in the the car.

Why would you need to port the heads or intake with a boosted app unless you were going for like 700+ hp? 500 hp is easily done without any of that. The main concern with top end stuff on a somewhat mild boosted app is getting the CR down and making sure you have enough seat pressure on your springs. Not high revs or head CFM.
