Default Push rods for tsp 228r

just wondering what size push rods for the 228r for mt 02 ss. ive read people are using 7.425.. dont really know tho. could someone lead me in the right direction. thanks guys.

7.400 with stock lifters, heads, etc. Requires different lengths if you mill the heads or run ls7 lifters etc.

Depends on the setup. If you have stock heads, lifters, ect. then a 7.400" will more than likely be the way to go. The best way to know for certain is to measure. You can grab a $20 PR length checker and make sure the length you need.

That's the best approach, otherwise everyone is guessing. There is some forgiveness in the setup but why not be certain.

Don't know why, but I just installed one (228r) that called for a 7.5 pushrod for ~.060 - .080 preload. I was in such disbelief I checked 5 different times, on 5 different lifters.

I can believe it, I installed 7.4s with my 228r & had some valvetrain noise. Of course at the time I didnt think I needed to measure for the correct length as most on here said get the 7.4s.
