Default Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor?

My check engine light is on and they say it is the pressure sensor in the fuel tank. Question is what is the purpose of this sensor, and what does it do? Is there any way to check it to see if it is in fact bad.?Has anyone ever had any problems with it? Where can i get a new one?

Google p1441. It's a problem with the EVAP purge system.

P1441 Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) system flow during non-purge

It's like the opposite of pressure, LOL. It means there is vacuum detected on the EVAP line to the canister when there is not supposed to be any. There is a round switch on the side of the intake plumbed into the hose going from the solenoid to the canister that detects the vacuum and relays the info to the computer.

A couple of common causes are:
-hoses swapped on the EVAP purge solenoid
-charcoal in the lines and solenoid causing it to stick open

Of course, the switch or solenoid could be faulty.
