I had read somewhere that the plastic used on f bodies was similiar to PVC
Does than mean that PVC glue can be used for repairs?
Any body know for sure?
I need to do a repair on my SS front fender.
Thanks and have fun!

no, dont use pvc glue. I used a BONDO brand bumper repair kit yeasterday, and much to my surprise it was very strong, yet flexible. use that if your on a budget, but otherwise i would let a professional take care of it.

idk off the top of my head what they are made of, but no matter what the repair process is the same. well unless its TPO, then you have to use the correct type of primer when you paint it. but its unlikely that its made of that

incorrect, the fenders to my knowledge are polyurathene plastic, the doors are SMC the hood is SMC the roof and 1/4`s are metal
so to repair polyurathene there is no need for a adheshion promoter, evercoat makes a plastic repair, but that is only used for imperfections not a actual repair of palstic
i use fusor its great product never has one problem with it, it is costly but well worth the price when repairing something for longevity
if ya need more help ill check back

What I actually would like to do is take a piece of one fender and attach it to another. I was thinking a good place to attempt it would be the horizontal molding line near the bottom. Cut there would be easire to hide. And if i needed to add strenght, I could add some material to the back of the joint.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

BUTTT I am seriously underemployed at the moment.....
Tuff to have a lil car fun on a tight budget.
If I hack it up too bad I can buy a new fender or maybe a Z06
"its the economy".............
