Default popped my track cherry--13.698

last night i went to clay city just to watch what goes on since i had never been to a dragstrip. it was so dead that i decided to run my 01 m6 T/A. First run was 16.043 @ 66mph because i thought the 1/8th line was the finish. LOL. I guess the nerves clouded my judgement. That was pretty embarrassing. But an hour later after 5 passes I did this:

60' = 2.24
1/8 = 9.014@82.241
1/4 = 13.698@107.459

is this good, bad, or somewhere in between?

DA was 1423, according to dragtimes.com calculator that is equivalent to a 13.486 run. Does anybody pay attention to that? or is that something people hang onto to make themselves feel better?

P.S. only mods are a lid and hooker muffler with a softball sized dent in it. tires are 18" street tires

Not bad for your first time. We all start somewhere...

That said, keep trying to find what the car likes for launching and shift points. You can get a mid to low 13 second times from the car by slicing some time off your 60 foot (with practice).

Have fun and good luck!

When I went to the track when my camaro was stock my best time was a 12.9 at 109, but of course this was with some nitro drags which net me a best of a 1.97 sixty foot. My car at the time had a cut out, magnaflow exhaust and that's it.

So props to you but u can diffenetly get it better then that weather permitting.

Wheels are stern st-?. Most ls1tech guys say they are too ricer for our cars but I think they look sick in person. And they are unique. I have never seen them anywhere else.

Anyway, should I be trying to power shift? One more question, should I drive around the water and not do a burnout?

On street tires, yes you should drive around the burnout box, but make sure you get yourself in the groove and pointed straight. Do a quick clutch dump to spin the tires and get any water traces or debris off of them before staging up.
