Questions for Goat owners. (pref. 06)
So I'm in the market for a GTO. Most people say to try and get an '06.
I live in Anchorage, AK so it's kinda hard to find these cars up here. Well I found one but with some issues.
Here's the details: It's a totally stock '06 with 13,500 mi but with a reconstructed title. Clean inside but still has a busted front bumper. Bumper only. They say it was hit in the rear quarter panel, passenger side. They say the things that were replaced were the quarter panel, trunk lid, taillight, and the rear bumper. That it was all cosmetic. It's all fixed except the front bumper, something the buyer must fix.
My question is, would any of you buy this vehicle? Are these vehicles strong enough to receive that kind of damage and still be fine? Is it too much of a gamble?
Now for those of you that may say you "would" buy it, what would you pay for it? They are asking $19995....Yes I know that is ridiculous. I will negotiate of course.

It's exactly what I want but not sure about the details. What do y'all think?

get under the car, put it on a lift at a dealer ship, look it over where they spec. they fixed the car, I def would not give that much for the car being salavage, once you get close on a final #........ then tell them the front bumper will have to be fixed before you buy it, If they want it gone they will make it right

Ya way too much for a salvage title. Look at the body lines between the trunk and rear panels. It is an easy way to see if the rear has been skewed. I'm not saying don't buy it even if it is off. If it drives good and you like it just use these as bargaining tools for talking them down on the price.

Like others have said, that price is ridiculous. Considering people are selling these mint for way less and having a hard time doing so, I can't imagine what moron would put a price tag like that on a salvaged car.

nothing above 15k. Period. I'd start at 13k and when they tell you to pound sand....do so. Check the Vehicles for sale section on ls1gto.com. For the money you pay over 15k thats airfare plus gas money and a roadtrip back home....and a legit title.
They're selling "as is" for a reason. Its a salvage title.
They could have fixed whatever was apparent that was messed up but think of all the things down the road that being involved in something like that could do to a cars longevity.

ls1gto NO.
lmao they have cars for sale that have BEEN for sale for over 2 years with PAGES of "nice price!" and "this is a steal" comments but no real interest.
The cars or sale there are for sale for prices o what GTO owners THINK their cars are worth.
Stick to autotrader and craigslist and you will find many absolute "steals" compared to those prices.
But being in alaska kinda really makes the market smaller to you unless you intend to travel A LOT.
