Default Tcc Lock Up Help

The input shaft drum that has the check ball in the drum itself(4L/60E), I heard that if you remove it; it will firm up the TCC lock up. If that is true how much difference will it make? Do any of you tranny pros think it's a good idea?

I have done this, yes it works. What it does is its allows more volume of fluid to hold the converter clutch on lock up. It makes the lock up feel more postive.

If you still have the PWM converter regulator valve, try changing that out for the non-pwm set-up first (a couple of companies make them). It can be done without tearing down the entire tranny (drop the pan), and may accomplish what you want.
