are replica c5 z06 wheels lighter than 02 WS6 wheels?
I'm talking about the 17x9.5 size. I'd like to get some nicer looking wheels but I dont want to add any weight to my car. If they're the same weight I guess I can live with that. If I'm going to be spending the money I'd like to shed some more weight off the car while making it look better. Are there any relatively cheap wheels that look good and are lighter than stock ws6 wheels? I dont mean drag wheels like regular street wheels and think I want to stay with 17x9.5 on all 4

I have had both, and I'm pretty sure the replica Z06's (17x9.5) were heavier. Didn't weigh them though, just by lifting them. I'd bet that there aren't too many aftermarket reproduction wheels or cheap wheels that are lighter than the Speedline WS6's, but there are certainly expensive wheels that are lighter
The wheel weight thread throws sort of a monkey wrench at the whole thing by listing a bunch of wheels with tires and some without.

already read the sticky it doesn't have the weight for the 17" Z06 wheels but I think it said the 18" are 25lbs a piece so I guess the smaller ones are close to the same weight as ws6's. I noticed these Fikse FM5 17x9.5 were like 18lbs a piece, where can I find a picture and the price?

The short answer is yes, it will hurt those things and more, but not necessarily by a perceivable amount.
The slightly less short answer would go into describing how unsprung weight "counts" for more than sprung/static weight.
Keep in mind that basically every performance aspect will benefit from reduced weight, especially unsprung weight. Acceleration, braking, handling, fuel economy, wear and tear; it pretty much effects everything, but this difference is gradual. It all adds up.

It's just something to keep in mind. It could certainly be outweighed by something like tire choice. A small increase in unsprung weight is by no means the end of the world, especially on a street car.

Yeah the differences are fairly small, unless you start talking about super bling wheels, then they can get heavy quick.
