Default Oil Pressure Sensor Adaptor

I want to plum in a mechanical oil pressure gauge and I purchased the adaptor to go in the stock location to mount where the stock oil pressure sensor goes. My question is does the stock sensor have to be hooked up in order for the car to run properly or with the sensor not hooked up would effect the computer in any way??? I would like to leave the stock sensor out and the car is a 99 Camaro. Thanks for the help!!!

I don't think the oil pressure sensor not being plugged will effect the way the car runs. There aren't any codes or anything else that come up with a car having no oil pressure. There might be a check gauges light on but that's all I can think of right off...

Yeah you would have a dead gauge and a check gauges light.

Who sells the adapter to use a mechanical guage where the stock sensor goes? I want to add a mechanical guage on my mustang ls conversion.
