Default 5.3 Cam Question

Hey fellas, got a 2000 Chevy SIlverado with the 5.3 an it's a 4x4. Looking for a torqy cam for her. I need to pull a 5th wheel and like to go off roading. Looking for a good low end-mid range cam. I know this has been beaten to death, I have searched.
Was looking at the usual suspecs, the Comp cams 54-412-11 XR265HR or the XR259. I want to NOT have to tune the truck. Just ordered Long Tubes for it too. Thanks in advance.

A tune is the most important piece of the puzzle, even if you don't replace anything. You're just shooting yourself in the foot. I wouldn't consider any mods without one.

BTW, I'd recommend the XR265HR low-lift version. That's probably the most recommended torque cam for the 5.3. That's what I ran in mine.

Thanks for the advice. I was really looking at that cam. I'm not saying I'm not going to tune it, I am saying I don't want to buy a cam that requires it. If you understand my happy butt
