Default performance

hey guys this is my first thread but ive been reading for a while now but im stuck on deciding on what performance parts i can get now i have a 2006 ss impala with a k&n cold air 2.5 cat back with no resonator with flowmaster 44 and a diablosport programmer i have run out of ideas on what to get. i was thinking of some headers but for the performance gain i would rather save my money for some rocker arms or something. i work on jet engines for a living so i have mechanical abilities the only problem is that this is my only car so i need something i can put on in like 2-6 hours any help?

Headers would probably help out more than rocker arms. Other than that, replacing the Flowmasters with another muffler would help some and getting a custom wideband tune are a few places to start.

And welcome aboard!

I tried to find thw link but theres 1.95 roller rockers that have been tested to 18hp at the wheels. I remember calling the place and they said stock springs would be fine too. I'll keep looking though.

Ah hah! I found it. Hope this helps.

Edit: Oh yea. I was told you gotta take the alternator out to get the back valve cover off, besides that its supposed to be easy.

I would get headers first then the rockers...They would help new rockers perform better, since you can get more air out of the motor. Plus, they sound way better

nah, just a little bit of twisting does the trick, had mine off a few times and the alternator does not jave to be touched.

Welcome!

If you don't want the headers, then get a Hogan DP and have Lew adjust your Diablo programer...You could also port your TB and Intake mani...

Me I have an 08 ImpSS and with the Headers,K & N aircharger,MagnaFlow catback, I'm seeing great results...

*EDIT* Now I just need to get her tuned, that's if I keep her...

The rockers are 1.8. They go best with upgraded springs. The headers aren't that hard. Hand tools and a jack/stands.

Incorrect. Rear valve cover comes right off

I don't think noise is the deciding factor on a catted vs. non-catted down pipe.

More like limited flow vs. flow (performance aspect) and passing vs. failing inspection respectively.

I would go with the headers... Check out the group buy we are doing now and sign up with WilliamGT... The headers will be worth the money IMO.... The headers cost $599 with the group buy and will cost you 900+ if you buy them from Thorley individually.
