Special Edition Vehicles - Richard Hendrick

Hey guys i searched but i couldn't find the answers im looking for. In the back window of my SS i have a mat that says Richard Hendrick, Camaro SS, then my car number 5802. My questions are can anyone tell me who he is and what influence he had on the camaros? I know a little about his motorsport and i think he owns a chevy dealership too. Does anyone else have his name in the back window of their car? Any information would be great thanks! :D

Hmmm. I would suspect the # is your SS production number and the previous owner of your car was named Richard. I think you might be assuming Richard Hendrick to be Rick Hendrick (whose real name is Joseph Riddick Hendrick III).

If you call SLP and tell them your VIN # they can verify if that's your SS number for free. I doubt they can tell you who the original owner of your car is though.

I already Verified it and its a true SS and i know 5802 is my build number... im just wondering about the name if it was the original owner or if all the camaro's got that name because of Hendrick.

Well, since "Rick" is short for "Riddick" in this case instead of "Richard" it can't be the famous Hendrick I don't think. :judge:

Up until a few years ago you could still order this personalized trophy mat from SLP. These were all after the sale orders. You had to call SLP after you bought the car and order it. This means that 2nd 3rd, 4th etc owners could also get this mat.

So this doesn't have anything to do with rick Hendrick and it just by luck that the previous owner and rick Hendrick have almost the same name. Thanks for the Info!

You could always have some fun with it... develop an alias at car shows and tell people you're Rick's cousin... :D

LOL that's a good idea tell em im his nephew or something LOL Thanks for the help, now i know that its the previous owners name ill take it out and put my name in it.
