I just finished installing a new panhard rod and bolt-in BMR LCA relocation brackets.
Maybe I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but the stock bolts were not long enough to reuse. The LCA reloaction kit came with two bolts, two nuts, and two spacers. The bolts were grade 8.8 (Metric 12) They were long enough for either hole (Control Arm hole, or relocation bracket hole), but the stock bolt would not fit either hole.
No store had the same bolts so I bought the next closest thing (a standard bolt). It is slightly thicker than the metric bolt, but it is only a grade 8 bolt? Everything fit together perfect this way, but I am wondering if it matters; 8 vs 8.8? Seems the metrics bolts cam in 8.8, and the standard bolts came in 8...

Any thoughts?

PS I'm telling you, I could not reuse the stock bolts, they were not longer enough. I cut off the e-brake bracket as required, etc....

Grade 8 should be plenty hard, grade 5 is maybe
tougher but softer, either should be fine for a
place that's basically only stressed in shear.
