Default Deeeeaaaaaddddd Batttery!!!!

Left work today and she was dead, lol. I usually sit in the car with the radio on for an hour a day, if I run ac or heat, the car is on, so I dont know if the radio killed it or not. Its the delco, but Im at 103K so im sure its been changed at least once before. Going with the Optima Red top tomorrow! Hope its not too much of a pain. Just figured I would rant about it, lol.

I feel your pain JW. Mine is getting weak also. I am not sure what I am going to buy yet, though.

Did I read that you have over 100,000 miles on your monte? Way to go!

Small hands help too. I had to get my sister to loosen the bracket, my big ol' mitts would barely fit, lol.

Greeaat...lol

Ya LuSe4, she has 103K on her. I bought it in March with 90K. Got an awesome deal, couldn't beat it I thought, haven't had a problem yet. It already had the tranny redone, plus brand new tires, so thats a few good things that were real nice. Clean car for 100K, I love her.

Yup, I'm grabbing my red top from summit tomorrow. Heard nothing but good things about them. They have them for 160, but I have 15 summit bucks and a 25 in store coupon. Gonna walk out with her for 120+tax!!

If your battery tray is like mine in the GXP you're in for a treat! Took me close to an hour running home grabbing tools and coming back to try and get it out/in. Someone used my car to jump start another car and the next thing I knew my terminal was melted. Wont let that happen again.

Is it really that much harder to change than an older w-body like my old '00Regal GS? Yeah some things are in the way and have to be removed but the bolts were accessible. Just curious. Oh, I will go with another Delco when my battery goes bad.

Few tips:

Take the passenger head light out...helps to push the battery out.

Remove the fuse block box...to do so you have to take the cover off and remove the 4 retaining bolts (one on each large wire connector)

Personally I stood the old battery on end and got it out that way...I rotated it after removing the head light
