LQ4 loud valves after valve job?
New here so any help is greatly appriciated.
I have an LQ4 with the standard 317 heads that just got a complete valve job. I just put in a comp cams 54-412-11 and patriot 8401 springs( followed the 1.8 install height ) and i have new trick flow 7.400 x 5/16" push rods. Got the thing fired up tonight and the valve area is just noisy! Almost like loud injectors kinda tick but i didn't swap the injectors, same as before. My friends all tell me it is just the lifters filling up but I am concerned that the push rods are too short. Is this a common noise with the tighter dual rate springs? I searched and pretty much every educated answer on google came from this website
This is in an offroad race truck
Thanks again for any input!

no it isnt the springs what are the cam specs? sewing machine comes from A) short pushrods and not enough lifter preload or B) very high ramp rates on the cam which is unfixable i.e louder exhaust time

Sorry for the late reply, I was in mexico for the baja 1000. The cam specs are in the link below.

It's nothing special really and the new push rods I got are 7.400 long (stock) and my machinist only took .010 off of the heads. I've asked around about this a whole bunch and everyone tells me the sewing machine thing is normal with a cam?......
