Default ls6 exhaust manifold and plugs

i picked up a pair of ls6 exhaust manifolds from my buddies house. they came off an 01 z28. i was wondering is it worth the hassle and the time to switch from the ls1 e.m.'s to the ls6 e.m.'s? i have TR-6 turbo plugs in the car and i dont have a turbo in it. so while im down there pullin the plugs and putting NGK or Denso iridium's in the car should i just go ahead and put the manifolds on to? is the hp and tq gaining enough for me to swap em?

I would NOT go through the labor to swap to an LS6 exhaust manifold. Sell those, save some money, and get some longtube headers. That's where the power is!

I think he means he would't go through the labor to swap them.

First off, mod for now, not the future, a good header can still sell for good $$$. I am generally the first to say not to spend the $$$ twice but that EM should be no different from stock. The ONLY EM I thought was 6.0L EM as they can be used in custom turbo applications but again, I am no expert.

Put the NGK in, TR-55's and gapped to spec.

No HP gain to be expected. IF plugs/wires were old, maybe a few hp and better driveability, fuel econ, and idle.

I believe the ls6 exhaust manifold flows comparable to a shorty header.. not worth the hassle to swap IMO.

LS1 and LS6 manifolds are the same much like LS1 vs LS6 rails, injectors, TB, rotating assy, externals etc

The newbie forum has a pretty inclusive rant about LS6 vs LS6 Fbody parts and how the intake is about the only part worth taking
