Default LS-7 cam

Can you use a cam from a LS-7 in a LS-1? Are the front covers different, cam gears, etc?

The LS7 cam doesn't have the reluctor for the cam sensor on the back. You would have to converter it over to use a LS2 front cover and timing chain for that. As far as the overall size it would go in the motor and could be made to work. However, at the point you are doing all that, you could just buy a better aftermarket camshaft...
