Another MS4 what head Qs
Iv talked to my local speedshop about doing a headswap and I think I know what I want..but I just like to see everyones thoughts. My plan is to have my 243s CNCd. Reuse my valves to not worry about PVC. Im guessing Ill pick up 35-45 to the tire.
But Iv ready about the PRC 215s and 227s. They are pricey and dont flow much different than a CNCd LS6 head? Iv seen good dyno numbers with the 215s but I wonder if the same or close to the same numbers could be had with just a nicely CNCd 243? Would it be worth teh trouble of flycutting to make the 215s work or save a lot of $$ and get my 243s ported?
Any imput from others would be great but Im thinking porting my heads is too wallet friendly to pass up..

I would suggest having the valves sunk in the head when getting them worked to improve ptv and also flycut. You are going to want to increase compression, or at least i sure would otherwise i dont believe it would be worth the cost.
I believe Catech made 511rwhp with worked 243's and a 242/242 duration cam just to show the potential that 243's have.

id like to know how the 243s compare to the 215s too. i was planning on going with 215s. never really thought about whether or not porting my 243s would be comparable

I'm right around 11:1, and even with a large cam/3600 stall (fairly tight FTI converter), the combo produces great low-end torque.
