Default Easiest way to install ASP pulley on A4?

Is there another way besides going through the starter to get it to lock up so I can get the pulley on/off?

Nope. It is very easy to drop the starter and put a big screwdriver through one of the holes in the flexplate.

I agree it was very easy there is just two bolts holding the starter on, undo those and it will just fall down. put a screwdriver in there and then install the pulley. it is just as easy to put the starter back on.

GM mechanics have a special tool to lock down the crank. obviously even an M6 you can spin the motor over with 240ft/lbs of torque lol.

a4 would be just that much easier to move

You don't need to drop the starter. When I removed the crank bolt, I just chained the stock pulley to the swaybar. That will keep the pulley from turning. When I tightned the bolt, I weged a flathead screwdriver into the teeth of the flywheel (it won't damage it). If you look on your bellhousing, there is a small round aluminum cover you can pop off. You will see the flywheel teeth through that. I actually tightened the crank bolt and held the screwdriver in place by myself lol. Once you start getting the bolt tight, the flywheel will rotate just enough to hold the screwdriver in place without having to hold it. It's easy.

Lol, yeah I was underneath the car, not on top of it I did have the car on a lift so it was easier. The flywheel locker tool sounds like something I would have used if I had known about it.
