Curious what springs/spring rate you guys are running, I just purchased a 87 with ls1 and before i get aligned i may be changing front springs.. Havent checked yet to see what is on the car but they feel very very stiff. This car is going to be a street/strip car. Any input would help

It's not just your weight and use, it's also matching the spring rate to your exact shocks.
MM has 2 very helpful pages you should read.
http://www.maximummotorsports.com/st...e=faq_coilover
I can't find the other one, but it tells which brands of coilover shocks like which ranges of spring rates. This page might get you there: http://www.maximummotorsports.com/st...x&cPath=23_374
also,
Mustang drag racers also benefit from installing coil-over conversion kits. Besides the overall reduction in vehicle weight, coil-overs can increase weight transfer by providing bind-free suspension movement and the ability to use relatively soft springs.
