I am shifting at 7500 rpms. My car seems to really like it on motor(383ci). On nitrous I shift at 6800. I am using the factory pcm but has been tuned. As far as cam it is a custom grind that my engine builder pick. I am not sure of the specs of the top of my head

AFAIK OBDII pulls to 7200 but uses the same tables from 6955 on, and then just stops gaining. Others have said the motor just cuts off...
Having an auto, I have never had to worry about over-rev .

7500 HR.... I'm probably going to skip the SR setup for this year and see how high I can go with the hydraulic stuff. Mass, pushrod stiffness, and spring rates are key to getting there. I'm sure it's doable with a beehive spring, I'm itching to get my hands on some 1519s In my motor... something around 254/264 .640/.640 on a 106 is what I would try.

big cam for a HR however still doesn't tell us much about the cam........the lobes may not be THAT agressive which may allow it to happen.......still it seems like a hell of a lot though lol.......anyway as for the PCM's yea its the injector driver and the lack of tuning ability above 6900 thats the issue......when i first ran my 385 on the stock computer it started popping like an SOB at 7000 it was like a rev limiter......

You can't go 7500on the stock PCM. My OBD1 car would shut off@6900rpms, and there was no way around it. There aren't many hydro rollers that will go 7500rpms but it won't be cheap to get something to work like that either. Goodluck.

Ok here is the run down......its OBDII, nothing is stock in or on the motor with a th350, it does have a factory tach and i know they can be lazy but I am running the Mallory HiFire box with the rev limiter set at 7400 rpms. Ok so I was 100 rpms short of what was originally asked.
And the only reason I kept going up in the rpms is because I was having a problem with having to shift right at the finish line in the 1/8th with my set up. If I shifted the car slowed down, if I didnt it would hit rev limiter and roll through the traps. I started bumping up the rev limiter and the car kept dropping in ET.
