I may have found my car
Ok, some of you probably know I am in search of a new LS! F-body. Mainly the Ram Airs, but I thought it wasn't worth it to pay extra money for a non functional hood. So I went and looked at a few non WS6 cars, non of them seem to be good. I am in love with the Sunset Orange color, but it's next to impossible to find one. Well I found a 2002 apparently sunset orange Z28(I thought that Z's only can in hugger orange? still a badazz color) its a little far away, but if it's the right car, it will be worth it. Although I wanted a TA, an F-body is an F-body. The Z is a little lighter then the WS6, cheapier, and I love the color! It also has a nice huge front grill for a front mount whenever I get my turbo on there. Details on the car, around 18,500 miles, they are asking 20k, but I think I can get it down to 19k. I'd pay 19k for it, KBB said it was worth 22 dealership costs, nada said around 21 but tehy are missing the fact that the color is pretty rare. Hopefully this car checks out to my liking, if it is still for sale, im going to look at it thursday. Here is a link to it, let me know what you guys think, sorry about all these posts, I just want to pick out the right car. Thanks.

That Z looks great! I love SOM cars.
But....,
Where did you get the idea that the WS6 hood is non-functional? Granted, it's not a true 'ram air' hood in stock form, it's more like a cold air induction hood, but there are kits on the market to make it a real 'ram air' setup. This is the best kit, www.geocities.com/brian98ramair I have it and love it. Works great, fits perfect, and looks like it's stock.
But....,

Looks good and the price is not too bad, either.
If you are seriously considering buying it, lowball them first and see what they say. It is not exactly the right time for them to have an F-body sitting on the lot, you know.
Good luck!

I just got directions to the place, its about 85 miles away!!!! WOW! That is a lot! Of course this has to be the perfect car though! Hmm... is it worth it? The dealership still hasn't gotten back to me yet, I wonder if the car sold? I will keep you guys updated, I am surprised that you guys said this one is priced right! Usually they are all 2-4k over!

Beautiful car. You are better man than me if you can test drive it and not buy it. I used to be a Mopar guy (Road runner, Superbee, Charger) until I stepped into my first f-body with the LS1. It was love at first sight. There was no way I was leaving that parking lot without the car. Good Luck to you.

A Ram Air hood is in fact functional, especially with the BG ram air mod. And it scares children lol. But, if you are planning on modding everything then the extra cost of a WS6 isn't woth it. I have the GM hood, but I have upgraded everything to be much better than a WS6. That does sound like a good deal on the Z28, and I love that color. The weight difference compared to a TA is pretty minor, though. But go for it.

nah, i'm jokin'. but seriously, when i got my Z after having my '97 v6 camaro, i was more proud of the t-tops and the volume controls than anything. of course, then i looked under the hood and remembered...

Damn, you guys are sharp! I didn't notice any of the missing stuff earlier...
In that case I'd say don't bother. Especially since you had first thought about getting a WS6.
And the price is too high for a stripper, too.
Keep on looking.

Yeah, I didn't even notice that either, I just ASSumed it had everything. Well I might go back to get the previous 99 ram air trans am I was looking at. It was fully loaded, 25k miles, they were asking 20 for it, now the price has dropped to 19k. I am going to offer them 17k, if they say no, oh well, I'll come back in a week when the car still hasn't been sold, and I'll keep coming back each week. I think that is a good deal, for around here atleast, I'd like to buy a car in DE, buying outta state is a PITA! Thanks guys for spotting that stripper Z.

Me either, I like it! I like it a lot! But it will be a daily driver and I can't be driving around with roll up windows or manual locks. As far as my comment on the ram air, it isn't nearly as function as the aftermarket ones, or the LT1 style. The hole is pretty small, and there isn't a seal around the hood/airbox, it isn't the greatest style or design. I would say it's more for looks then performance, from the factory obviously. I love the look of it though.
