Default Going rate for low mile LS2 and 6speed?

I have a friend that has a 15,000mi '06 LS2 complete out of a GTO with brackets, accessories, harnesses, computer and 6speed for $6,000. I'm sure I can do better but it is local and can pick up and will not have to ship. How far is it off from the going rate?

thats not a really bad deal, considering 15k miles and with everything needed thats about what your ganna pay for and considering this is close by and you can look at it id probably take it, you could also try offering him 5500 since hes a friend and see if he accepts

just for reference I paid 2400 for a ls2 long block, but thats without a tranny, and accessories and comp and harness, if you think you can do better then by all means go shopping but you wont find one at that price for those low miles imo

Seems fairly reasonable according to current LS2 listings on eBay... There are listings for used engine's only for $5k or more and engine & trans (auto or 6 speed) are upwards of $6k.

Plus there's something to be said for convenience and buying from someone you know.

It's off a little IMHO, but what's your time worth? By the time you piece one together or pay a little lower price and then ship it, it may be worth the premium for all of the convenience and knowing where it came from.

Pretty good price for the mileage. eBay is your best bet to compare price.

That's what I'm thinking as well. I'm sure I could find a deal for $500 or so less but how long will that take, and what would it take to get it (drive several hundred miles to pick up, shipping, etc).
