Default Good Cam?

I have a 2002 camaro ss and currently i have a magic stick 4 cam from Texas-Speed with ls6 heads. Im looking to put a different cam in. Something a little more street friendly but i dont want to sacrifice too much power. Any suggestions on a cam that can be daily driven that will go good with ls6 heads and still puts out a good amount of power?

Also I have a F.A.S.T throttle body and intake and running 3.73 gears if that makes any difference

I would think that the MS4 would be fine for a dd (with a good tune). Why don't you like it? Maybe the TSP 228/228 588/588. Or a bit bigger TSP 233/239 595/603.

I do like it but i just wanna get something a little smaller. I wanna cut down on the lope. I have a 112 lope right now. I want something a little more smooth. It has a bad cam surge and its hard to drive when its cold and its hard to get started. I thought i had a good tune. Its possible i don't. Im getting a new tune here in the next month or so after i put my new rear end in. If that doesn't help anything then i want to go smaller. I heard EPS makes a good cam that is small and ddable with a real smooth idle and makes like 415hp or something like that with just the cam. Any thoughts on that one?

Yeah, I would get the tune straighened out first. I really think that's your problem. After you get that worked out, I think you will enjoy the car.

the biggest cam is not always the fastest cam.a ms4 is a drag cam needing more radical supporting mods.what power did you make with the ms4?maybe consider a torquer v2.or talk to one of the cam guys on this forum about a cam recomendation .what trans do you have?

for one thing that cam needs more gear. the 3.73s are holding it back. put some 4.10s in and let it work. i had this exact setup.

Well actually that is what i have right now. Im going down to 3.73 becasue the 4.10s suck on the road and i top out a1 110 to 120 in 4th. Also Texas-Speed said the 3.73 gears can be ran with the ms4 cam

Is your car an auto? I could imagine the MS4 being shitty in an auto car without a converter, but as stated it is really a drag race/horsepower type cam not leaving much for low end torque.

I had a TR224 cam before my current set-up and it was very streetable, my buddy's 6-speed T/A has the cam in it now and with full bolt-ons (FAST 92, LTs) made 419/403. You could drive it anywhere.

I just had an EPS cam speced out to replace the MS4 I'm running now. I've already got the info on it but I'm waiting on a little tax money before I get it ground and installed. Then I'll know the answer to the million dollar questions about Who pulls Who at the drag strip, street drivability and pure nastyness between the two.
