Default Tuner cats vs Tunerpro

Which is more user friendly and easier to understand. I know tuner pro is free but would a first timer be a little in over his head with it.

I hear tunerpro is easier but you have to learn the basics first so if you don't know anything about it, it wont matter which one you get.

Well I printed off the tuning tips on LT1pcmtuning and have read over them a few times. I went ahead and downloaded tunerpro RT and the bin files and Winflash. With tunerpro do i need freescan though? and what cable will i need?
