My Lexus - Built 6.0
The build is about to slow down a little now but figured I would post up to see what people thought and get any advice before I get too far into it.
1992 SC400
Here is my old setup:
And here is the beginning of "Project SC600":
here is the first pic after just setting the mockup motor and t56 into the bay(mounts not made yet)
Originally planned on a overbored high comp setup but now switching to a completely forged 408 rotating assembly
in route to my friends house for the mount building
Picked up a decent sized cam from a buddy
Main studs
Cleaned up my trunk and finalized my existing fuel setup(gas tank is behind the back seats)
Began abs/trac control delete and harness tuck while my other motor gets ready for machine work and other parts arrive (compare to first pics lol)
This project is where it is because of a lot of help from good friends of mine especially with me being out of town often for work.
As soon as I get back in town I am selling the wisecos and eagle rods and ordering the rotating assembly. Should be getting my ported LS6 oil pump from Texas-Speed by the time I get back to town and my SPEC twin disc is already there so more pics to come soon
I'll try to get some a little better than cell phone pics next time lol
*UPDATE* 2-21-11
I have great friends lol! Sending me pics while I'm out of town
*UPDATE* 2-25-11
Thanks Texas-Speed!
*3-2-11*
Mount plates came in
and proportioning valve
*3-4-11*
notched subframe
and bolted new plates to new motor
*9-2-11*
Lot's of progress being made back home with all the engine internals arriving as well as machine work under way. I'm still out of town so only pic I have now is the one my cousin sent of my BC coilovers
and my FAST 102 that I previously picked up from another member during my travels

Only thing I am really worried about is I didnt buy a complete motor swap like most others so I'll have to track down brackets and accessories as well as hose routing and stuff but it shouldnt be too bad. I am using my existing AEM universal race box to control everything so that helps eliminate a lot

Tired of replacing old used motors. Figured if I was going to build an engine from the ground up I might as well do something big. Plus had the right friend at the right time to trade most of my old stuff for a lot of the V8 stuff he was going to put in his 240 so it worked out good for both of us
