Default Targa came today from the man in brown shorts

Nicely packed. Shitload of bubble wrap to remove.

Purty:

Just sitting on roof

Ok I figured out a mount system. Pretty basice. Using the two bolt holes in the rear deck area. there will be a pedastel styl holder that cradles the targa. the rear seats would have to be down. The hatch, hatch shocks would all clear etc. the pedastel would be carpeted and use a velcro style strap to cinch it down- mock up only*

Overall good quality piece. Definatly needs some adjustments, edges cleaned up etc. VERY light weight.

More to come as the top is painted and center is chopped.

That mock up for the targa needs to be a production piece too so it doesn't go flying around in the rear...hint hint. Looks good do far can't wait to order mine

Theres actually no mock up in the back . The targa is just sitting there. But I think you get the idea. A pedestal underneath holding it up and strapped in.

After staring at my center support, its no easy cut it out and go operation. A rail will have to be made to join the two sides, weatherstripping cut /fit etc. Headliner will need to be cut and redone. Possibly adding some weatherstripping to the underside /front of the targa top.

The underside isnt finished or smooth. Until the center section is cut I will use my ttop shades. After that the underside will need to be covered/upholstered.

So has anyone actually cut the center section out? Will new metal have to be made to hold the weatherstripping? Pictures? The headliner will be easy to remove and chop. But the metal work looks tough.

I have an idea. Re using the center section that is cut off the car and bonding it to the targa. Then when targa is on, fab up a latch on the front/ rear section. Im going to a paint shop tues to get an ext for paint and see what they want to chop the center section, Also gotta figure out weatherstripping
