Default LH8/Muscle Car pan vs. stock truck pan

Does anyone have the dimensions for the LH8 pan (I've read 7.75" deep sump) vs. a stock LY6 pan (I think this is the same as the LQ9/4 pan.

Just want to know if there's a benefit to the LH8 pan over a stock truck pan.

thanks
Jim

They are basically the same depth wise the regular truck pan as a kick out on the front of the sump that the LH8 doesn't have.

The truck pan is the dirty one. Clean = LH8

This is how much the LH8 hangs down from the cross member on my 1970 Camaro. It will be ok for this summer if I'm careful, but I bet I will be swapping it out for a CTS-V or F-body pan. I have about 4.5" from the ground to the pan and is in line with my wheels. Speed bumps shouldn't be a problem. I HOPE the suspension hits the bump stops before the pan hits the ground...

I still don't understand how gm can market that as a muscle car swap pan when they themselves already produce much better options.

Those pics look familiar!
I've put the LH8 pan in the pic, on my LQ9 in the 55... It's below the frame, but I've not measured how far...
The CTS pan gets frequent mention. I may investigate, if I have problems. [Or, I may take the nasty truck pan, and fire up the tig machine....]
It looks by the dims and the pics in the sticky, that the CTS pan is a no go for the 55. The LH8 is close to the steering link, as it is.
