Trying to Identify T56 Tranny 
Yeah, So here is the T-56 numbers that a guy is giving me off his tranny that he is trying to sell. He doesnt know how to identify it either.serial # 61DLFU046144 and he said its a "1386" Borg-Warner Tranny.....
From what I've looked up I cant find any info with those number or on the Borg-Warner site or google search. But Ive also heard after a certain year they still had the B-W stamping after Tremec took over.
Basically just tell me if its a 98+ or not. I need a t56 out of a 1997.5-2002 F-body or gto. thanks!!!

Ok, so he thinks its out of a 97 trans am.... Does this sound like the right numers for this year transmission? I need a tranny that will work with my LS1 swap and Im afaid that this might be the tranny for the LT1 and wont fit the LS1??? I think they changed over some time in the middle of year in 97 and then continued until 2002.
