Default Lightest 18" or 17" wheels for 2000 z28

What are the lightest 17 or 18" wheels for a 2000 z28? I'm looking for something about 9-10" wide. Either machined, naked, or black with silver rim are acceptable styles.

Depends on what your budget allows. Fikse are nice and very lightweight.

I just had them quote me a set of 17x9.5" and they are a bit out of the price range.

I was looking for a set of wheels for less than a grand. I'm not too picky on appearance, honestly, so long as they're less than $1000 and lightweight and close to 17x9.5" I would like to look at them.

It's hard to find any truly lightweight (forged) wheels for under a grand. Your best bet is just a basic set of any 17x9.5 wheel from OEWheels (or similar shop), I just read a thread on here where the weight was about 22.5lbs without a tire, which is about as good as you will find for under a grand. Just don't get the chrome ones as it adds a fair amount of weight.

I *could* be wrong though, but I have never seen a lightweight wheel that cheap.

According to some forum post I saw somewhere with absolutely no sources cited my 16" wheel weighs 17lbs.

I have never weighed it.

Billet specialties street lites 17x9(/9.5) should be pretty light and close to a grand without tires.

Yeah its hard to get a real light weight wheel in a 17,18 with out spending some bucks,I wouldn't even worry about weight savings on a set of rims in that size, its not gonna make your car any faster, now if your going to town and taking every bit of weight out, that's a diff, story, but then you should be looking into a set of drag wheels not 18s

I just don't want to screw the handling up with heavier wheels is all. It's more about maintaining traction than weight loss for ET's.

I've had a lot of rims,a 17 ,18 inch is gonna be fine, the only issues I have had with bigger sizes is 22s,24s etc and that was on my truck,

17x9.5 C4 ZR1's or 17x9.5 or 18x9.5 C5 black with the silver lip from OE wheels, 17x9.5 7" bs from Race Star. The Race Stars are 20lbs each, if a bit pricey, and I just wish I could find something for 16-18lbs. I haven't heard back on the OE wheels weights, despite sending them an email.

Our Bogart Road Race wheels are among the lightest on the market. Our 17x11 configured for your car should come in at about 17lbs.

Regarding pricing, a typical 17" setup (9.5's and 11's) will be in the ballpark of 2300.00-2500.00 depending on options and setup.

Give me a call if you have additional questions.

Here's an example of our wheels on a Camaro:

2001-2004 OEM/factory C5 Z06 wheels (17x9.5, 18x10.5). I believe around '01-'02 they were 'lightest'. Even with spacers/lugnuts, you are adding minimal weight close to the center of the wheel.
