Oil life reset?
Got an oil change yesterday and on the way into work today I thought to check and see if the mechanic reset the oil life from the info menu. Of course he didnt. I try pressing the reset button and it changes from "31%" to "XXX%" and then back to "31%". I've done this before in the past and had no trouble. What the hells goin on? Tried doing a search for "oil life reset" and didnt have any luck. Thanks for the help.

I dunno, on my '02 ZO6 vette you hold it down until it changes to XXX%, and then it won't change to 100% until you shut off the motor and start it again. I had to do my ZO6 on the fly this last time, and same thing, it would not change until next motor start-up.

I turn on the ignition (w/o starting) and press the gas pedal down three or four times...This is how it was in GTO and could swear that worked in my CTS-V also, but the manual only states doing it in the nav system.
If you look in nav manual:
1. turn nav unit (stereo) on
2. press info
3. go to 'engine oil life' by turning tune/sel ****
4. once the 'xxx%' engine oil life is displayed, press the reconfigurabl button next to the reset prompt
-the percentage will return to 100, and the oil life indicator will be reset. If it does not return to 100%, then repeat the steps 1 thru 4.
5. turn the key to off
- if the change oil message comes back on when you start vehicle, then the system has not been reset; go to step 1.
for the heck of it, I'm going to try the gas pedal method again and see if that does work on our cars. Thought that's how I did it last time on the V.
