Assuming that I was going to put a single/double chain in during a cam install would one be more difficult to install over the other?

I have noticed that with a pulley (which I do not have) there is milling and/or shimming going on for a double timing chain. Do they give you all the parts necessary?

The fact that I haven't seen this install on ls1howto or install university freaks me out because I need pictures to understand all this stuff.

In 99% of the cases, you only have to have it machined if you have a vette. The F-bodies have been fine with the pully/double chain issue.

i have a rollmaster double timing chain and an un-machined asp pulley and have no problems. the installation wasnt that hard, just uses the 3-arm pulley puller and set it up for 2-arms and gently used it to pull the stock crank snout off.

I have the rollmaster also and it fits with no milling with the UPulley

Double Roller goes in just fine, only thing that needs to be shimmed is the oil pump, and the timing set should come with spacers to do this.
