Garage Floor Epoxy Coating

Garage Floor Epoxy Coating
I have been wanting to do this since my house was built (2yrs ago). It was pretty easy overall, just have to take your time on the prep work. I priced out having it done @ 1500-3000, and I think I had 250 total in it by doing it myself. The commercial grade **might** be higher quality, but this fit the build for me.

floor epoxy
I built new garage 2 years ago (****, shoulda made it bigger!). Anyway, commercial guy quoted me (I think) about $3500 for 26'36'. Contractor overheard conversation said "I'll sheetrock the whole thing for that much!" It was Rustoleum product/franchise. I didn't do it (or the sheetrock). Bought new parts for my Ducati instead

I epoxied my floor too. I got mine from sears and that **** sucked! It didn't last but a Year or so. Its all flakes up. I'm thinkin of going with those interlockable tiles next.

Our old neighbor who is extremely meticulous acid washed the **** out of his garage floor before he did this, still didn't last a year....but there has to be some coating thats worth a damn, I used to work at a dealership and they did it to the entire shop floor...super tough stuff.

Have had my Rustoleum professional grade epoxy on the floor for 4 years now. I didn't apply it to my third car section as that is where I do most of my welding and fab. work and didn't want to burn through it. Now I wish I would have as I have been welding on the cage for my Thunderbird right on top of the epoxy with no burn through. Cleans up great, I had a can of spray paint explode and leak on the floor. Cleaned up right away using mineral spirits with no issues.
