HELP!!! 98 pcm and harness into 00 fbody. gauge issues.
i have a 00 fbody that has a 98 pcm and harness swapped into it. the engine fires and runs but i'm having trouble getting all the gauges to work correctly. so far all i have is oil pressure and volts. no tach or coolant temp. from my research all the wires that need to be swapped are within connector 220/230 behind the passenger side kick panel near firewall. is there some special wiring that needs to be done with the class 2 serial data port? any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check this site out:

I know that 98's had 3 main connectors and all others only have 2. The problem lies there.

The 1998 doesnt have the Class 1 Serial Data wire in the Harness that goes to the Gauges.. it's in the 1999-up cars. It's one wire that controls 4 of the Gauges..the 1999-up Clusters break the signal in that wire down and make it work.
Basically a 1999-up Cluster will NOT work with 1998 Wiring.
