Default How should a stock LS1 behave?

I went and test drove an 02 Z28 with a 6 speed, and from a slow roll (5mph) it wouldn't spin the tires just by putting my foot down, is something wrong with it or is this usual?

It probably depends on the tires. I had 275's with almost no tread left and they would spin all day but my new 275's wont.

Yeah, that doesn't seem right if you are stomping on it at 5 mph in first gear. The tires should break loose. Does it feel like it bogs down?

Depends on your mods, tires, the surface you are driving on, etc....

Concrete road?
Traction control left on?

Besides those two maybe if it was a 273 vert down on some power but still unlikely.

2.73's were only on the autos right? I thought all m6 cars came with 3.42's.

Correct. I was just saying that is the only situation that might not spin the tires over with an ls1.

That dont seem right. Is the clutch in good shape? My m6 car would burn em through 1st & 2nd and get a strong scratch in 3rd. Sometimes a 4th gear bark if I hit it just right. That was with 245s in good shape. Haven't tried yet with my new 275 nittos.

My goodyear tires are in fair shape and it kills them in first and going into second. I could never chirp third though.

Where are you located? Elevation plays a huge factor on how these cars perform.

Bought new or used tires??

On a pretty much stock car you should just ab dead hook with those tires, most heads/cam cars with simple suspension will dead hook with those at anything over a 10mph roll.

An LS1 can still feel strong when it's running like sh**.

My 00' WS6 would destroy tires in 1st gear at a 5mph roll.
