I am in the process of choosing which LS engine to replace my 350 in an old manual 72 truck I am restoring. I definitely want an iron block, decent horsepower and reasonable mileage for a daily driver.

I have looked at the LQ9 450 horse from turn key engine supply, but am leery due to some comments on this forum. I am looking at the LSX376 with fuel injection as well, but it's a bit pricey and far from turn key. I am really looking to make this as painless as possible so turn key is sounding really good. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Budget is about $8500

I will be running a non-comp controlled manual trans and will need to resolve mounting, fuel and engine control as well as purchasing the motor.

turnkey looks to be pretty expensive on their prices, do some price checking before you buy from them.
