New suede interior (PICS) Had a little incident with a dremel and my headliner cutting a hole for my fuel pump (don't ask). Never planned on doing my interior but here it is, it was either reline or a drop down TV to cover up my booboo.
Suede left, Oem right
Went with a charcoal grey figured black would be too dark, matches my rims.
I left the sunroof slider just because I kind of like the contrast.

It's not too bad, getting the headliner out is the worst part. I had a buddy who has done interiors before , so that was a big help. I used Permatex heavy duty spray adhesive, maybe cost me about 80-90 in materials. Doing the pillars is easy, if you start with them you'd have apretty good idea what to expect with the liner. We did the the liner first though, not to bad difficulty wise, if you have done any facbric work before it would be a snap.
Yes I just applied it right over the existing fabric. My Oem stuff was getting kind of beat anyway, that stuff gets dirty easy and isn't easy to clean.

The more I sit in my car the more I like it, looks so much better than the OEM fabric> Took me awhile to get used to it but the more I look at it the more I like it. The only problem with suede is everybody wants to touch it, they keep f*n up my one way brushed look LOL. Off to go buy a brush for it.

wow that looks pimp. i want to do this that would so much better than my tan and black mix. guess ill be hitting up the interior guy next door for an estimate to do it soon.

Got a little dust pan brush, works perfect for brushing the suede.
If you do it yourself be gentle with the clips removing the trim, two part epoxy is a quick fix for any broken clips. I managed to only break two, and repaired them both. If you can get the liner out yourself it will cut down on the labor big time. The longest part was doing glue in upholstering one piece at a time, because the fumes from the glue are pretty strong and didn't want to spray a bunch at once.

A few years ago in Automotive News or something GM stated they were abandoning "mouse fur", you know that fuzzy crap that looked cheap as cardboard. I was so glad to see that stuff die pretty much industry wide. I think more cars should be offered with the suede as an option. My in-law had an S6 Avant with the Alcantara interior. That was sooooo nice, it really helped distinguish the car from just another A6.

Headliner took about 1 1/2 hours. First glue, then let tack, more glue, tack more glue. Also put a good coat on the material it self. We just took our time smothing it out and getting the edges perfect.
The trim pieces were easy 10 min a piece not including glue tack time.
I actually did it in two evenings, headliner in one evening and the other pieces on the next evening. I had two pieces left for the following morning because he glue fumes were getting to me, LOl had a 3 day headache.
I bought all the supplies locally
