Default What stall for a bolt on LT1 car?

I told my friend to go with a 3200-3500 stall vert for best performance because they make peak hp at like 5 grand but their tq is a flat line from like 2000-4000rpms...plugged in some #'s and thats what i came up with but what has gotten the best results...right now i figure hes making maybe 250-270 at the wheels.

Thanks
Bill

Bill,
Some of the 94-95 LT1 cars have a shifting problem when going over a 3000 stall converter. The ECM becomes confused and goes into a Limp Home Mode. You can have Ed Wright reprogram the ECM if you have this problem. A 3500 converter makes an LT1 move really well and would be a great compliment to a 3.23 or 3.73 car. If it has 2.73 gears, I'd go with a 3000 converter.
