Oil pressure went up?
just had a hotcam kit installed with asp pulleys... all other mods in sig was already installed previously... after the cam went in the oil pressure gauge is showing just under the line between the 40 and 80 at idle thats after a drive at normal operating temps... what the deal here? car only has 22k on the meter
Thanks

the reason why i asked this is because after the shop installed the setup he asked me what my oil pressure was normally at.. and to be honest i never really paid attention to it before because i never did anything to the internals so was never worried and/or paid attention to it before... so he got me all worried now if i have a problem with it.

Usually oil pressure is slightly below to slightly above 40psi (usually ranges from 38-42psi). 60psi is the pressure at which the pumps bypass spring opens and does not send any extra oil to the engine. It is possible that you have a restriction somewhere in the system (after the sending unit). If this is so, you could be risking engine damage if its not checked. I would tell them that the stock pressure at idle is 40psi and to find out why its so high.

the only thing i know that could have done anything was when he lubed up the new cam with some REDLINE grease before inserting it...

just got home from driving all around... idling the pressure shows under the 60 but i would say high 50's as per the factory gauge
