Default lq9..... what heads??

ok so a LQ9 is going t be going in to my 2000 SS. im not looking to go forced induction anytime. i will be spray a 125-150 shot.

i have looked around and seen different heads being swapped on. from 241,243,ls3,or l92's.....

im not going to run a stupid huge cam... not even sure of what cam to go with when it arises....

im not wanting to have to deal with a PVC issue when i do swap in a cam.

havent been able to find compression comparisons for the heads or power numbers comparing them on a stock LQ9 block.

i know bottle loves compression.... but what heads would net me most on motor while giving a safe enough compression to spray?

eventually the motor will become a 408 or 416.....

Default

keep the stock 317s, just mill them and use ls2 head gaskets. 317 same intake/exhaust ports as 243/799
reuse the rocker arms and pedestals. reuss your current cathedral port intake.
or
l92 heads with ls2 head gaskets and milled. cost is higher,
than keeping the stock 317s. also need use l92 intake offset rocker. reuse stock rockers on exhaust side. will also need l92 intake and use of 90mm tb. or adapter plate to reuse stock 78mm tb

no real hp increase by going with 243 on your lq9 since its basically same intake port as 317. 243 which just allows for higher compression.but a mill of the 317 will raise the compression any.
shop i use to work at charge 85$ for hot tank, and mill up to .030
