Default Ethanol ls1

I have a stock 98 ls1 with a gmpp carb intake, msd 6010,hooker longtubes that I want to convert to Ethanol. The car is built to do open road racing 90 miles of high rpm. Ihave a 4l60e full manual and 3.08 gears. I plan on putting nice pushrods and valvesprings in but wont do much else to the motor. I am building my own fuel system so I have that covered. I want to know if it is worth doing this over just running pump gas, will I need to mill my heads or run 5.3 heads to raise my compression to see any real gains? Is the extra 200 dollars on the carb going to be worth enough power to justify the swap? Feedback please.
