Default I hate BS Crap like this!! Advise please.

Ok, my engine came with a truck pan. It is too low. I acquired a C5 pan with screen and windage tray. The windage tray on the C5 is longer and requires 2 more nuts.
I have been everywhere and can find any.. even the dealer. They said they are not stock.

They are 10M x 1.25 stainless locking nuts.

Go to hardware store, get two 10 x1.25 nuts, hit them on sides a couple places with center punch or a hammer or in a vise just enough to slighty get out of round...this will make it act like locking nut. I would put a little gasket cement on the threads to be sure and you are in buisness.

They don't need to be stainless?
I kinda figured because the tray isn't. I didn't want to take any chances.
Red locktite?

Get the stainless ones from the hardware store then squish them yourself in a vise. You gotta go to one of the good ones not a Home Depot.

Otherwise track down a fastener distributor in your area (yellow pages) and ask for "prevailing torque" nuts.

Here's a manufacturer in Houston...

They will likely refer you to a distributor but maybe just maybe if you get the right person on the phone they will leave 3-4 of them at the front desk.

That place only 50 miles away is like 2 Hrs. You gave me an idea. I called some locals and found a company near me. I love the name I should get a job there.
