I walked out in the shop and weighed the PST drive shafts.
13 aluminum
20 Steel
There are many choices of yokes to choose from, knowing the proper one for your application is key. There is always the option for a chrome-moly yoke for the higher hp vehicles.

Actually they give a little more than stl shafts, AL has a better rate of twist than stl and it doesn't stay stuck there as it will come back.
AL shafts won't absorb as much power as does stl, so when getting to speed i have had nothing but positive with lighter weight AL shafts over stl.
Now remember there is no real this shaft does 1200hp. . .
EVERYTHING changes, what will handle 1200hp in one car at 3" diameter may need 4" diameter in another.
The girl in texas last year almost died from a improperly specd shaft, when it broke at 170 mph and cut thru the car and her helmet, shoulder, ribs, legs arm. . . .
