Default Questions on h/c car passing Ohio emissions

Within the next year or so I would like to install heads and a cam. This is still in the learning/research phase of my plan, but I'm considering the TR224 and a set of heads that will put me at around 11:1 CR.

Does any one have an idea if the above setup, with the following, will pass Ohio emissions?

1) TR224 (112) - without tuning
2) TR224 (112) - with tuning
3) TR224 (114) - without tuning
4) TR224 (114) - with tuning

Thanks,

Jim

Do you have OBD scan only testing, or the sniffer? OBD scan is very easy to pass with tuning.

I would avoid the 112lsa then. I know some have gotten 112s to pass, but it's harder and as your cats age you might have issues down the line with passing even if it just squeaks by at first.

I'd say the 224/114lsa is your best bet. I know many people have gotten my cam (221 on 114lsa) to pass the sniffer easily, so the 224 should get by...maybe someone else that has it can reply. Here in IL we have scan only now, so basically any cam will pass with the proper tuning.
