Default C5 z06 brake fitment

Will c5 z06 brakes fit inside a stock 16in fbody wheel? I run 17in 10spokes most of the time, but I have my ET streets mounted on some chrome 5 spokes, so im going to need to make whatever I do brake wise fit inside those.

I thought c5 z06 brakes only work with 18"+ rims or the factory C5 Z wheels. Im sure they are a 14" rotor.

Whether they work with 17", 18", or 19"+ wheels, depends on the design of the wheel, and it's offset. If you have stock 17" speedlines, or the 17" Camaro equivalent I believe, they'll fit with out issue. Torque Thrust II's, and some other 17" wheels will have interference issues as the spoke will contact the face of the caliper. They fit inside my 17" wheels, but I had to have the offset changed and the design of the spokes altered. The other option is to use spacers, but I'm not comfortable with those.

They will NOT fit under anything smaller than a 17" wheel though. The diameter of the front rotors for the C5, and C5 Z06, is 12.8".

Damn, my car definitely needs a brake upgrade, but I run 16s at the track. Is there any option for the stock 16in wheels and some bigger brakes?

Wilwood has kits that will allow you to run 4 piston calipers in something as small as a 15" wheel. As far as a larger rotor, forget it. You need a 17" wheel.

Some things to be clear on, some of these kits are drag brakes, and as such are poor at repeated stops with out adequate cooling (i.e. bad at everything except stopping you in the quarter, and totally unsuitable for the street).

May have to give up on something and compromise.
