Default GXP or Impala SS

OK, between the 2 either a better choice?
What are the known/common problems, I see tranny, n A/C stuff posted on a lot.
DOD taken out in the tune?That usually solve the oil consumption?
What are the usual mods, Cai, down pipe, resonator delete, mufflers, tune?

Been looking at them and just trying to get a general idea of what to look for.
Any year better than the others?

Thanks for any and all info

the powertrain and the performance mods are all going to be the same regardless of gxp vs. impala SS.....I personally would recommend the GXP as the Impala is the most bland of all the LS4 w-bodies and blends in completely with every other fleet impala out there....and IMHO, the newer the better so you have more powertrain warranty

Get an 05-06(GXP)or 06(MCSS or IMPSS) so you can get a custom Lew tune,07-09 are not supprted.I have an Impala,but would say go to the GXP wider is better right?

GXP=You get HUD,drilled rotors,sweet rims(stock),etc...

SS=you get a chevy

If I were to do it over again i would have went GXP,but then again my Impala blends in with every other fleet ride(Just w/more *****)

GXP The Impala is boring in comparison. Just look at the interior and you'll see what I mean.

I get about the same when I drive the Impala. Best I got on a road trip was 28mpg but that was ALL highway with the cruise set at 75.

Op- Really you just need to make up your own mind on which car you want. It's well know that even though these cars are very similar secretly most don't like each other.

I'm not going to bash the GXP and say **** about it cause I don't own one, I've got an Impala and love my car. Are there things I would change about it, YES, but I've been doing that slowly.

All cars are "cookie cutter" cars until you make it your own.

TapShift.

Why not a LaCrosse Super? Shares Bilsteins with the GXP and it's classy. Impalas are by far the highest produced LS4 car, by over 30,000 I believe.

On the plus side, cars get out of the way on the interstate. They think every Impala is a cop.
