Default severely lowered guys

how do you jack your car? I'm lowering mine this weekend

back in the day, I had a slammed Mustang and I built some ramps out of 2"x12"s just to get the car high enough to get a low-profile jack under... I'm guessing I'll have to do the same thing again

any tips/advice appreciated

I have to drive my car on a 2x4" piece of wood so my harbor freight jack can go under the jack points.

I don't know how you guys have the patience to put up with this. I'm on stock springs and even then there are times my ride height annoys me.

Yeah, it sucks having to use a ladder to get into the driver seat

I use the same 2 x 4 method that everybody else seems to he using. Seems like the safest and most affordable way of doing it. It's really not that big of deal, I'm not sure why everybody thinks its such a pain.

I drive up on some 2x4's and have just enough clearance to get the jack under it.

I use 3-2x12s nailed together. The longest is 48", then 32", then 19". Then I have a 2x4 on top of that, that I use as a stop. Each 2x has an angle cut into it to make driving up on it easier. When I drive all the way up on the ramps, I can slide under the car (change oil, etc.) on cardboard, laid on the ground, but I can't fit when I'm on my creeper. Are they heavy and a pita...yes. But the wood was free so why not? It's all part of having a lowered car.

I drive up on a 2x4 and then have the wife lift up on the front fender well and have just enough room to jack the car up.

wait, what!?

here's the setup after springs and shocks this past weekend

ground to top of fender on front - 24.25". rear 25.50"

Ryan at UMI is sending me some shock spacers to raise the front ~.50" and I may add some .125" washers as well

Buy a good jack that has a low point of 2.75". I can fit mine under just about any car out there with no issue. It only raises it 15" or so, but after you get it jacked up just a bit you can easily get the monster jack out and get it higher if need be. I bought my jack at harbor freight for ~$80. Aluminum too!
