Default 98 LS1 cluster reading near double tach and speedo signals?

Anyone ran into this? I figured the customers gear calibration was off and someone had changed the pulse output from the factory 6 to something like it was going in a swap car, but it was in fact set to factory for the tach output (just to get it close in the meantime I changed it to 10) and the gear calibration is actually pretty close, logging it the mph is reported at 70 when my dyno says 72... but the cluster is showing nearly double that? LT1 had a separate ECU and guage calibration, but not sure Ive seen that anywhere in LS calibrations? Any ideas, bad cluster etc? Everything else seems normal

I have the same problem. I just got a gaugle cluster out of a 01 TA to install into my 97 TA. All the guages work correctly just the Tach is double the out put.

Hopefully someone chimes in.

Thats easy, in the PCM their is a pulse output number. My issues its all stock original stuff, and its still off.

LT1s used a 8 cylinder signal, LS1 used a 4 cylinder signal
