Stand alone pcm in my 98 Vette?
I am looking to upgrade to a standalone in my car. Is this possible? I love teh ease of tuning w my 67 502 efi bbc that I have a Painless wiring software and mefi4b pcm. (same as MSD software)

I would do everything I could to keep the OE controller. Standalones in Y bodies can be a real pain. You'll have issues with trying to make everything work with your BCM and the rest of the car. Plus the OE controller can do pretty much everything you want it to do. By the sound of your other thread, the problems you're having probably aren't in the controller itself. They're most likely in the car. And, even if you wanted to swap out the PCM to check it, they're cheap.
